Barbara Kruger originally trained as a graphic designer, working at magazines such as Mademoiselle and Aperture before developing her signature, slogan-driven style in the early 80s. A staunch anti-consumerist, her satirical juxtapositions of bold text and black-and-white imagery have provided a continuing commentary on our increasingly acquisitive culture during the past three decades. This November Sprüth Magers London are undertaking a reappraisal of Kruger’s early works. The exhibition opens November 20.
