Vincent Fournier’s work offers a photographic journey through the utopian dreams of the 20th century, mixing fantasy and reality in highly polished images of a retro-futuristic world. His images may seem like mockups of childhood fantasies but are in fact captured in very real—if unusual—locations. For his recent Space Project, the Mars Desert Research Station in Utah proved itself the star. Today NOWNESS premieres images from his current project, Underworld, shot in the subterranean caverns of Tokyo’s storm sewage system. Vincent Fournier is represented by Steps Gallery in London, Clic Gallery in New York, Galeria 27AD in Milan and Acte2 in Paris.
