Stockholm-based director Mats Udd, who describes himself as being born and raised "on horror and gore VHS," has made a name for himself making emotion-filled adverts and music videos for Nordic stars including First aid Kit and Susanne Sundfør. Here, the filmmaker talks about the video he made for Ester Ideskog, aka Swedish electronic artist Vanbot:
“The video for was shot outside of Stockholm in an old military camp. I wanted to create a video that deals with space and time and focused on two people colliding.
“Since this song was written and recorded on the Trans-Siberian Railway, we also wanted to latch onto the feeling Ester had, how being on the train moved her existence to a surreal, parallel place. We wanted the video to move in a landscape untangled from time and in an indefinable space.”
