The Listeners Project creates videos in buildings set for demolition; swansongs for dilapidated sites across the UK that provide a final moment of reflection. Here, London-based director and choreographer Alexandra Green, who made the latest film in the series, talks about traversing the halls of London’s Averard Hotel:

“When I first visited The Averard Hotel, I had an immediate connection to the stairs. The central structure and spine of the building felt too important to ignore.

“I loved the way the stairs naturally get more unforgiving in nature as you go up: the corners get tighter and darker, the space becomes more difficult to navigate. I wanted this to be reflected in Let Me, and so the space governs the choreography and the choreography, in turn, reacts to the obstacles the structure throws at it.'
