A nymph-like couple engage in an alchemical exploration of fauna and flora in a playful, pastel-colored film from Maxett Pribylov. “My video has the spirit of pure, first love,” says the Russian photographer and director, whose experimental project features uncanny configurations of eggs grown on vines and body hair consisting of wild grass and petals.

Pribylov chose to use the voice of Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant, to narrate an extract from a gardening manual. “Tuum Amor Flore Est conjures up the summer dreams of lovers,” says the director, whose film translates from Latin to ‘Your Love Is A Flower’. “Mutual care is metaphorically represented as the care of a houseplant.”
