A Single Man cinematographer Edu Grau talks about his journey to the coalmine settlement of Barentsburg, Svalbard, where he and co-director Edward Edwards caught glimpses of the everyday Arctic:
"The film was a miracle on all fronts. We went to this tiny village in the Arctic Circle without knowing much about it, kind of open to anything. What we found was a symphony of characters and places that had a unique beauty. Please understand that under severe weather conditions, life does not necessarily make any sense."
