It was a summer night in Venice. I was wearing my sister’s skirt and her black top. He was waiting for me at the Ca’ Rezzonico dock and as I arrived in the vaporetto I saw him and I knew he was the one. Cheesy right? So cheesy that we never tell this story. Instead we say, “we met through a friend in common.”
That was six years ago. In the meantime this is what happens. Move to Paris, move to New York, dinners, friends, travel, work, sex, you know… the usual. The night I met Max he told me he was a photographer, that he wanted to make a movie and open a gallery. I was sold.
Last year we moved to LA and he found the space for the gallery. "It’s perfect," he said. Small little jewelry stores in a land mark building in downtown LA. He spent his last 15 years framing things through his lens: people, objects, buildings...
This gallery is just a continuation of this. So for the next few years, we will continue to travel to have dinners and have more sex and at some point the movie will come out.
Photography by Max Farago. More information on the Farago gallery and current show Gospel Oak by Leigh Johnson here.
