I wanted to create something drawn out and beautiful, capturing the calmness of being alone. One minute you might be depressed and the next you're enjoying the solidarity and I wanted the audience to swing between negative and positive connotations. To toy with feelings of loneliness, but also aspiration.

We worked to put emphasis on the incidental sound in certain places to draw attention to obvious absences from another. And combined with the soundtrack it works to further the emotional flicker we're exploring. Aaron Shanahan did such an amazing job on the score. It was a really cool process working together.

To be alone and to feel alone are so far removed from one another. Huge changes to your reality occur in a blink of an eye. It’s a time for reflection.—Victor Pakpour, director of PS I Love You.
