In 1947 Christian Dior shocked and revolutionized the fashion world with his "New Look" collection, which—quite against the penny-pinching, ration-hoarding spirit of wartime Europe—promised to swathe young ladies in copious yards of fabric, bestowing them with powerful shoulders and an elegant, wasp-waisted figure. This celebrated fashion moment, always at the core of the modern house of Dior, has been taken as the inspiration for the latest collection of Lady Dior handbags, aptly titled "New Lock" after the neat clasp that adorns the front of each bag. To celebrate the line’s debut, photographic legend Peter Lindbergh has produced a series of short films starring on-the-up French actress Nora Arnezeder. The full set of films can be viewed at the Dior New Lock website.
