In 1971 California-born artist Chris Burden—known for shocking audiences by putting himself in extreme situations—asked a friend to shoot him in the arm at the F Space Gallery in Santa Ana, as part of an act that he called Shoot, and which would come to be known as his most famous performance. This and many more of Burden's performances and works are captured in the first full-length documentary about the hugely influential artist, Burden, directed by Richard Dewey and Timothy Marrinan, which was first screened at Tribeca Film Festival.
