Realm is the latest solo exhibition by Portuguese street artist Vhils which features true-to-life portraits of Shanghai's residents as bas-relief wall carvings. The short film is presented as a dialogue between the art and an existentialist narrator who ponders the beauty of life, work and relationships in China's biggest city.
This film is a collaborative production between the urban artist and director Jose Pando Lucas. This film falls within a new field of research that allows Vhils to explore the perspective of the filmmaker, and the immersive possibilities of video as a medium.
