Who needs top flight equipment when bricolage will do? Directed by his long-time collaborator, Van Neistat, this excerpt from New York-based artist Tom Sachs’s A Space Program proves that as in art, so in space travel: if you haven’t got the funds, just get crafty. As well as offering insight into what make plywood such an admirable material, the film follows the artist and his crew’s efforts to send the first women to Mars.
A Space Program opens at Metrograph, New York on Friday March 18, 2016.
