Jessica Craig-Martin has the perfect cover. While undertaking her job as a party photographer for glossy magazines including Vogue, she takes clandestine shots from decidedly unglamorous angles. Skewed and out of context, exquisitely manicured hands become grasping claws, delicate canapés become surreal, out-of-place objets d’art, and lavish bejeweled shoes are caught poking out from underneath toilet cubicles. These images are taken from her new book Privilege, which is published this month by Schaden.
