The second film in Andre Bato and Kristian Kirk’s new series, which premieres in its entirety today on NOWNESS, continues the Italian and Danish artist duo's examination of the relationship between the camera and its subjects. This time, the creative duo take a close and clinical look at feminine expression through dance.

Speaking about the project’s mix of science and sensation Kirk explains: “Rather than styling models in cultural uniforms, we used real members of subcultures and specific communities and placed them in scenarios within our studio. The film’s white universe—boundless and starkly clean, like an advertisement—sets up a surreal juxtaposition between the space and the stimulating activities taking place inside of them.”

The artist’s project is to be exhibited alongside a set of wide-screen projections and ‘body sculptures,’ designed by Kirk, at GAZE in New York.
