Kara Blake's The Delian Mode is an affectionate and appropriately experimental ode to cult electronic pioneer Delia Derbyshire. Telephone conversations with Derbyshire towards the end of her life run through Blake's documentary, conjuring all the mathematical musician's infectious enthusiasm and creativity. Blake also tracked down Derbyshire's former co-workers at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, where she sliced, looped and Sellotaped her eerie futuristic compositions into being, music that sounds as innovative today as it did in the early 60s.
