Recognizing the lost relationship between food and the land, and shifting priorities that put appearance above nutrition, British pub group Public House shares its mission to reconnect pubs back to UK farmers for short film SOIL TO PUB.

As the group behind Notting Hill staple The PelicanThe Bull in Charlbury, and The Hero in Maida Vale, Public House is set upon restoring the identity of the Great British pub, and putting Britain’s produce back on the menu. Acknowledging widespread closures across the UK’s pubs and agricultural businesses, SOIL TO PUB follows its founders Phil Winser, James Gummer and Olivier van Themsche in their efforts to reinforce the relationship between them, with pubs as a practical solution by purchasing directly from growers.

Showcasing the bounty of premium produce grown in the UK, and Public House’s dedication to regenerative farming, SOIL TO PUB captures a fine-tuned system that fuels change for small producers, enabling fair pricing and reduced waste. With top pub chefs handed the reins, Public House is transforming the desirability of irregular produce often committed to waste, letting pub-goers fully engage with what they’re eating through a produce-driven approach that rethinks how we farm.
