Miami-born photographer and director Roe Ethridge—known for his pop-hued approach to advertising and fashion photography for the likes of Vice, Wired and New York Magazine—presents a playful take on behind-the-scenes with a touch of green screen magic. Here he discusses how it all came together:

"The video was originally produced for Vogue China. It was shot on green screen with a green treadmill so we could have Rianne walking through these absurd landscapes. During the shoot we gathered stock landscape images as diverse as possible; from Minecraft to shots of Mars taken by the lunar rover.

"I included the video as part of a loop for the Nearest Neighbor exhibition at the 2016 FotoFocus Biennial, Photography, the Undocument, in part because I loved the way this travel focus folded into one of the long running themes of the show, which is the 'fugue state', and the characteristics of far-flung travel. I also just loved the effortlessness of spirit that was kept throughout the production of the video. From working up the concept with Daniela Paudice, to Rianne’s smile, to Jesse Kaufman’s props, to Steven Rico’s incredible first edit (which was basically left untouched)."
