Stockholm-based director Igor Zimmermann recounts the sad tale behind his wistful, amusing short:
“This project was a combination of two things I'd wanted to do for a long time: design robots and write dialogue. After an intense three weeks without sleep (deadline looming…) we had built the whole thing from scratch. Unfortunately, everything was crushed inside a truck during transport after we had recorded our first demo of it, so the dreams of touring theatre festivals, showing it to audiences and letting the project develop a weird life of its own were crushed along with it.
“The idea was to create these fragile characters with feelings instead of macho transformers that destroy everything, and it’s kind of ironic that this is also why they didn't survive, and this demo recording we shot in the studio the day is all that’s left.”
