Described as a “landscape hotel,” Juvet, situated in Burtigard, Norway, consists of seven modernist guesthouses flaunting breathtaking ceiling-to-floor windows that fill the rooms with panoramic views of the foliage below and beyond. The project was conceived by landowner Knut Slinning and realized by architects Jensen and Skodvin, who added pared-down interiors and timber walls to ensure nothing distracts from what lies beyond the windowpane. In addition to the inspiring accommodation, Juvet offers personal guides, on hand to educate and intrigue with stories of local culture and history, as well as organized activities in wintertime, such as rafting, hiking and skiing. Those looking for well-deserved rest and rejuvenation can partake in the hotel’s chic mini-spa: legend has it those who drink water from the local Olavskjelda spring remain healthy and young forever––for that alone, it might just be worth the trip.

Prices start from €400 a night.
