From Nobuyoshi Araki, the man who tied up Lady Gaga for Vogue Hommes Japan, comes this exclusive set of fetishistic food photographs, starring the Japan-based Korean-American model and actress Kiko Mizuhara. Araki is perhaps best known in the west for his arresting, often explicit black and white images of rope bondage, but in Japan he’s nothing short of a superstar, celebrated for his work’s astounding range and scope. Over the past four decades he has published somewhere in the realm of 500 books of photography, covering subjects as varied as his domestic life, plastic dinosaur toys, and the recent passing of his beloved cat, Chiro. Today's portfolio is a preview of Araki's recent work for Barneys New York; the fashion institution tapped the photographer's potent sense of decadence and sensuality for its "Have a Foodie Holiday" campaign. These portraits of Mizuhara, who is set to star in the upcoming film adaptation of Haruki Murakami's Norwegian Wood, will appear in the Barneys holiday catalog as a limited-edition pull-out poster, and on the front of the ever-desirable Barneys gift card.
