Today we present one of a series of five moving vignettes reinterpreting the mythical love story of Daphnis and Chloe, in which a pas de deux embodies the spirit of Maiyet’s Spring/Summer '15 collection in mesmerizing slow motion. Choreographed and directed by Benjamin Millepied for his contemporary ballet Passage to Dawn, the LA Dance Project performers couple and separate to “Where I Belong,” a specially recorded track by London Grammar. Inspired by the lyricism of dance, Maiyet created a custom wardrobe for the performers, aspects of which are echoed in the collection.
