For the latest episode of The Way We Dress, London-based director Leonn Ward asked her friends to think about how style affects their sense of self. Here, she explains the ideas behind the film:

“The way I dress plays a vital role in how I work, how I carry myself, and how I’m going to approach my day. It’s as simple as this: if I feel confident and happy with what I’m wearing, it guarantees I’ll have a successful day on set. It has nothing to do with looking good for others; it’s about feeling that confidence inside you.

“The more I spoke to the girls I filmed, the more we all realised it really doesn't matter how much a piece of clothing costs—whether it's cheap or expensive. Clothes are the armour you put on to face the world, and you really can’t put a price on that.”
