It seems the uber-talented Joanna Newsom is becoming something of a regulator collaborator with the equally great Paul Thomas Anderson, which is frankly wonderful news. While for Inherent Vice PTA cast Newsom as the enigmatic, rarely-seen narrator Sortilège, here (for the first single from the eagerly anticipated Divers LP) the mercurial director grabs his chance to fill every frame with the avant-folk star, whose infectious joy and unique poetry manage to turn a cold New York City into a winter wonderland.
