Director Toby Amies talks about visiting the verdant South of France garden of Chanel designer Pascal Brault. Here amid a range of mountains, Brault shares a holiday home with his husband, set designer Stéfan Lubrina, and their border terrier Frickey:

"Pascal’s beautiful garden is more about letting nature at its best affect the person who visits it, rather than a gardener affecting nature. All too often a formal garden represents our vanity in thinking we can exert real, lasting control over the natural world, but Pascal’s paradise in Cévennes is a playful dance in which nature is the leader, and the better for it.

"It was a enormous privilege to be there, but I also felt like the garden was designed to express our human right to be at rest and stare up at the simple beauty of a green canopy or bite down on a delicious blue tomato."
