For those who have ever wondered what it would be like to experience the forest as one of its animal inhabitants, immersive art collective Marshmallow Laser Feast uses radical imaging technology to simulate the experience of perceiving the world through the eyes of other life-forms. In the Eyes of the Animal highlights the intimate relationships between humankind and other life-forms on Earth through an out-of-body 360 VR experience to return people to nature.
Originally launched in 2016 where Visitors to an English forest were given globe-shaped vR headsets adorned with bark and moss, the experience also came with a 'backpack' that vibrates in line with whichever creature you become: a dragonfly, a frog and an owl.
In the Eyes of the Animal was presented at chi K11 art museum for NOWNESS Experiments: The Mesh, a moving-image exhibition produced in collaboration with NOWNESS. Running from November 8 - December 13 2019
