For her latest project, Nashville-based gothic blues musician Adia Victoria enlisted artist and director Andrew Ralph to illustrate her straight-talking spoken word piece. Here, he explains the inspiration behind the visuals: 

"Since this poem is about Adia’s insecurities when she was a young girl, I wanted to create an animation that felt childish, almost nostalgic to the viewer. The digital 2D animation is inspired by old episodes of Sesame Street and cartoons that I grew up watching in the '90s. 

"Our fears and anxieties can often seem like a living, breathing thing, so I knew that I wanted to make Adia’s nose its own character, as it takes on a life of its own."
