“When the snow is falling and the nights get cold, if you listen very closely you can hear a faint noise in the wind,” says the digital artist duo known as Reed + Rader. “That noise is hardcore and happy!” The 3D winter wonderland is inspired by Brooklyn-based internet obsessives Pamela Reed and Matthew Rader's previous dance video work “Dubstep Dinosaurs” and soundtracked by the ecstatic beats of Australian happy hardcore producer DJ S3RL’s "Da De Da". “The snowmen are actually inspired by our real life stuffed animals, that we call ‘The Jollies,’” Reed + Rader say of the jovial characters dancing alongside the Christmas trees, baubles, gingerbread men and candy canes. “We love the Jollies a bunch and have fun with the stories we create for our stuffed animals. On Christmas Day the Jolly family is always out waiting for Santa and getting ready for some holiday pizza, the only food they eat.” NOWNESS spoke to Reed + Rader, whose video game-inspired fashion avatars have been featured in Dazed & Confused, AnOther and W magazine, about their holiday traditions.

What other music do you love for the holidays?
Reed + Rader:
Chipmunks Christmas is a classic holiday album that we would play on vinyl as kids. And next year's hopeful supposed release of R Kelly's 12 Nights of Christmas album.

What does a Reed + Rader holiday food menu look like?
R + R:
We always have Christmas breakfast, which this year will probably be pancakes or waffles and some of the Christmas cookies that Santa took a bite out of that were left by the Jollies. For dinner it will be tacos which has become a tradition over the past few years.

Which dream characters would you like to spend the holidays with?
R + R:
Spending Christmas at Disney World would be pretty cool. We love that place.

What are your favorite seasonal outfits?
R + R:
Matthew wears all black with snowmen socks. Pamela likes to wear snowmen sweaters all year round.
