GENER8ION release the first single from an upcoming self-titled album. The project is a collaboration between producer and composer Surkin and director Romain Gavras, who has made both spectacular and controversial music videos such as "Born Free" and "Bad Girls" for M.I.A, "No Church in the Wild" for Jay-Z and Kanye West, and "Gosh" for Jamie XX.

The French filmmaker is the most sought-after visual creatives in the industry. He can effortlessly switch between music videos and feature films, which he demonstrated with his 2010 feature debut, Our Day Will Come, and 2018 Cannes-selected The World is Yours. With a Netflix deal under wraps and in production in France, it looks like Gavras's work in GENER8ION is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what audiences can expect from him over the next year.

“Neo Surf” is performed by Kanye West collaborator 070 Shake and comes alongside a spectacular music video shot in Athens. It takes place in the near future (2034) in a disillusioned and damaged world with puzzling poetry embodied by idle youth and underlying violence.

Of GENER8ION's upcoming series of films and releases, the artists say: "Rewriting the confines of genres, the films create a vision of the coexistence between human creativity and human failure, it questions the arbitrary boundaries that we draw around places, people and concepts. It is not post-apocalyptic because the apocalypse, like the future, is already here."

The video and single release follow last week’s premiere of the trailer for the GENER8ION project, which teased upcoming video releases including an appearance from Charlize Theron.
