In its purest form, nature is molded by change and contrasts – between the seasons, day into night, colossal forms and microscopic life. In these ongoing movements, and the role we play among them, the planet around us operates in parallel to the journey we take through life – navigating shifts and unexpected occurrences, where our every move directs the outcome.
In short film Future Bright, Athens-based director Adam Csoka Keller captures the essence of nature and a world in continual flux - never fully static, but locked in an unending state of change and movement. Co-commissioned by Emporio Armani, the film platforms a new sustainable vision from the Italian brand for Spring/Summer 2023, in which movement and dance mirror planetary motion, and the synergy between mankind and Earth. Shot on location against the virgin landscape of the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece, the different forms of the environment are explored through organically choreographed movements: dancers grow deep roots, stand firm as mountains, move freely in the breeze, reaching a final ecstatic energy release marking evolution, and the unity of life.
Relying on light and shadow to establish a clear passage of time, Future Bright takes us on a journey through a planetary cycle from sunrise to sunset. At its creative root lies a celebration of our home planet, emphasising the need to protect the immense value of our natural environment. As the dancers morph with the landscape, the accessories become an extension of their bodies, the connection with nature driven closer through sustainable materials: from bio-acetate eyewear, to watches built around recycled metal elements. Examining minor considerations as a catalyst for major change, Csoka Keller visualizes messages embedded in Emporio Armani’s sustainably-minded accessories collection, where design interweaves with inspiration drawn from untamed nature and undiscovered worlds.
