FMKF is an artist collective run by Berlin-based choreographer, curator, and director Franka Marlene Foth. Connectivity and collectivity are at the heart of her artistic expression. “I explore concepts by creating layers of expression,” said the artist, “and delving deeper into the physicality of performance whilst refocusing on the basis of dance and the dancer as a malleable element.”
Originally created as a live performance featuring four FMKF dancers, EP02 channels the simplicity of a setting explored through the purity of movement. The focus of the dance lies in the sensation of dance, choreography, and appearance of the performers, who are dressed in Ottolinger.
“I explore concepts by creating layers of expression and delving deeper into the physicality of performance whilst refocusing on dance and the dancer as a malleable element,” said Foth, whose choreography has also elevated dance-filled campaigns from Vogue, Tiger of Sweden, Off-White, and Adidas.
“To highlight dancers as artists as well as athletes is crucial for me when curating performances,” Foth continued. “Overly conceptual movements and choreography limit the emotion and freedom that dance can offer to the dancer and the audience."
