Lime Kiln Club Field Day is the earliest surviving feature film with an all Black cast. It was produced between 1913 and 1914 but rediscovered 100 years later by archivists at MOMA. The film is a rare documentation of actors in Harlem, NY and an important portrait of the Black middle class.

Previously lost to cinema history, this is now one of the most popular films in MOMA’s collection and has been re-enacted by several African American actors.
