Japanese composer and pianist Koki Nakano's latest offering picks up the tension in a track conceived to speak about ECV (External Cephalic Version) - a procedure which externally turns a fetus from breech into a head-down position.

"I've composed the track imagining the tension of this trial." says Nakano, "The drastic effect to the unborn baby from an external world, the risk of the moment. It also seems to me, a ‘call’ to the prenatal universe, transmitting great hope from the mother and physicians."

Together Nakano and long term collaborator Benjamin Seroussi invited renowned French choreographer Marion Motin (Rambert Dance Company, Madonna, Stromae, Dua Lipa, Juliette Binoche), to explore the themes within the beautiful setting of "Muralla Roja" (by architect Ricardo Bofill Levi) at Calpe, in Spain.

Speaking about the intention of the video Benjamin Seroussi comments, "This track is very intense and Koki and I chose Marion Motin to work on it. It made sense to use her and her moves, which are very powerful. She has this mix of strength in her body gesture and she's very quick, she moves very fast." Koki agrees, adding "the intensity of Marion Motin’s dance fits with the concept of this composition. Benjamin suggested to me the idea to have a real mother and son relationship for this video. It made so much sense to me."

Seroussi continues "For the video, we wanted something more colourful than the others, and so my producer Olivier Bassuet came up with the idea of Ricardo Bofill's Muralla Roja. To me, the concept is that this whole place is just one place. The choreography takes place in different parts of that location, but I shot it as one scene. I intended from the beginning to use every colour and background as one place, not making a difference and not trying to create an idea of movement throughout the space. I also really wanted to integrate and work with the blue sky, the clouds and water as elements that could interact with the graphical, simple and minimalist architecture of Ricardo Bofill, putting forward Marion's dance."

"Another interesting element is her son. She was posting videos of her and her son dancing together and I wrote to her telling her that I would love to integrate her son in the video. She said she would love to but he's young and quite wild. I said: that's the idea! We weren't going to ask him to do anything. We just wanted him to come with us, have fun with us and whatever he would do we would film. In the video, it never seems like we're asking anything from him. We were just having fun and adapting the filming to whatever he was doing for us. His appearance is quite brief, but it brings a bit of warmth to Marion, who is almost like a warrior in the attitude she has in the video and in her gestures. Seeing that she is a mom and watching that little boy interacting with her gives a bit of poetry to the video."

"This film is also an hommage to Ricardo Bofill who passed away recently this year" says Olivier Bassuet / creative producer - Art Bridge
