“Time ticks slow
Towards whom does it go?
My teeth in water swim
As I like to keep clean and trim
The clothes should fit you
Like a woman’s touch so warm,
Caressing my very form
The wounds of time
They lovingly hold
So I can stay well-dressed
When I’m a hundred years old.”

– Willy Kristian

Danish artist and director Nina Holmgren talks about her film, Club 99.7, dedicated to her late poet grandfather and inspired by the above poem that he wrote:

Club 99.7 is a tribute to my grandfather and to old age. I wanted to make an honest portrait of him as a stylish poet in the final months of his life, and to portray that there is also a beauty in decay.

“With the film I wanted to prove that style has no age and the perseverance to continue to have a playful and curious mind overcomes everything. It’s inspiring to continue wanting to be well dressed when you are almost 100 years old.

“The short film is the product of valuable time spent with my grandfather Willy. Time spent talking, dressing up, writing and laughing while constantly cherishing every moment, knowing it could be our very last together.”
