Indian Maharajas and British royalty mixed with celebrities including glam rock legend Bryan Ferry (pictured above) and French actor Olivier Martinez at New Delhi’s Jaipur Polo Club last month for Cartier’s Travel with Style Concours.  A showcase for classic and vintage Indian cars, the event was curated by automobile connoisseur Manvendra Singh, who sourced several of the automobiles from the private collections of India’s royal families, whose models date back to the time of the Raj. "Unlike America’s obsession with shine and gloss, this [event] has more heart," explains David Clark, a prolific collector and head of the judging panel. "We are taking into account the car’s character and historic background." Ferry, also a judge, confessed he only had eyes for the Jaguar SS Tourer: “My vote goes to that beauty, but I have a feeling some pre-organization is at play," he said playfully. As Ferry predicted,  Martinez and HRH Prince Michael of Kent announced Princess Ezra of Hyderabad's entry as the ultimate winner, a restored saffron yellow 1911 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost Dome Roof limousine, originally fitted with a royal seat for its first owner, the Nizam of Hyderabad.
