Scottish composer C Duncan is not your average bedroom producer. The son of two classical musicians, the multi-instrumentalist is best known for his Mercury Prize-nominated compositions, released through independent Brighton label Fat Cat Records.

True to the DIY spirit, Duncan creates the artwork for each of his releases himselfintricate pictures of his home city from above are hand painted in his Glasgow flat. Here, director Helen Plumb talks about capturing the artist in a film she made with Ben Cox of Brighton-based filmmaking collective Gnarled Apple Productions:

"C Duncan's designs are as intricate as his music. Location is important in the progression of his work, so we tried to visualize the connections between the natural patterns and shapes around Loch Lomond, where he grew up, and the geometric cityscape of central Glasgow where he now lives.”
