A regular presence on the set of Hollywood blockbusters, Brigitte Lacombe is known for capturing high-profile subjects in fleeting moments of vulnerability. So it’s no surprise that NeueHouse, the interdisciplinary work collective, enlisted Lacombe to get up-close and personal with the likes of Ed Ruscha, Jake Gyllenhaal and Spike Jonze for its first foray into publishing, NeueJournal.

Given the photographer’s rich history with Los Angeles, and the recent opening of NeueHouse’s Hollywood outpost at the iconic CBS Radio Building on Sunset, the publication turned the lens on Lacombe for a meditative portrait, premiering on NOWNESS.

“NeueJournal is an extension of the cultural agenda and conversation that we have generated at NeueHouse Madison Square and beyond,” notes Editor-in-Chief Michelle Grey. “I can’t think of a photographer I admire more, both on a professional and personal level.”
