In a new video for her latest track The Gate, premiering on NOWNESS next Monday, Icelandic songstress Björk’s has teamed up with a super troupe of collaborators including Los Angeles-based artist and filmmaker Andrew Thomas Huang, who brings his signature hi-tech approach, Gucci’s Alessandro Michele and long-time collaborator James Merry Film.
In celebration, we’re revisiting the singer-songwriter’s innovative 2011 project Biophilia, inspired by the otherworldly biology of her native island nation. Since the birth of the album that sits at its core, the project has found a form in everything from an app to an educational program, and enlisted collaborators including photography duo Inez and Vinoodh to biologist Adam Rutherford, gathering a mantel-full of awards and accolades along the way.
