Get a behind-the-scenes look into the latest exhibition from artist Alex Prager that includes photography and a new film— on view at Lehmann Maupin in New York until 26 October 2019. The show expands on Prager’s well-established approach to storytelling that timelessly combines eras, cultural references, and personal experiences.

Born and based in LA, Prager—the recipient of an Emmy Award for her film series Touch of Evil—has always been drawn to the esoteric charms of the 'Golden State’. In Play The Wind, the audience is led through an extraordinary sequence of uncanny events by two protagonists, played by French choreographer Dimitri Chamblas and actor Riley Keough.

This film features interviews from the artist’s multidisciplinary collaborators, who detail her command of witty narrative, effortless recreation of motion in photography, and her ability to tease out nostalgia in evocative images of bygone America.

This behind-the-scenes film was made in collaboration with Dropbox and directed by Luisa Conlon and Max Knight.
