For an exciting celebration of art and hospitality, over the course of three nights and four days Airbnb created a pop-up Art House in Hong Kong’s Sheung Wan district. The installation featured 11 international new media and performance artists, including Ying Miao, Wang Xin, Shawn Maximo, Boychild, Wu Tsang, and the collaborators in today’s film by Noah Sheldon, Amalia Ulman and Jonathan Turner.

Reflecting Airbnb’s goal to provide access to unconventional homes, each artistic duo created a performance about belonging and hospitality. On this subject, Spanish-Argentine artist Ulman discusses her interactive and voyeuristic sleepover, where 15 strangers were asked to dispose of phones and personal belongings and were left stranded in an art gallery for the event’s all-nighter finale.
