In a new film for the Mgallery collection of boutique hotels, French director Cloé Bailly—known for her short films and music videos that capture the often-imperfect nature of human interaction—takes us on a whirlwind tour from Bangkok to Paris following a romantic game of cat-and-mouse. Here, the director talks about the project:

“From the very beginning I loved MGallery’s vision: they wanted a travel tale, an impossible journey, but mostly they wanted a story. I loved imagining the slightly absurd adventures of Zoé as she travels the world, through a Butterfly Effect-inspired structure.

“Zoé is just like anyone else: she loves a good bit of eye contact, because it’s romantic, but mostly because it’s a great ego boost. She enjoys traveling, but she mostly loves posting her 10000th selfie showing she’s having fun. When she makes out with a cute guy, she thinks that’s what true love is… for a minute.”
