The birthplace of tartan, Harris Tweed and Argyle knitwear, Scotland has a lot to answer for in the history of British fashion. More recently, the small British country has produced a number of innovative fashion designers, among them Christopher Kane and Jonathan Saunders, while Marc Jacobs has been championing Scottish style since 2008, when pleated kilts became his personal sartorial trademark. The time is therefore ripe for classic Scottish brand Pringle of Scotland to make a bold international statement—in the form of a new film from photographer Ryan McGinley. Shot in the Scottish countryside and featuring Academy Award-winning actress Tilda Swinton sporting Pringle’s spring 2010 collection, the film launches a series of projects that aims to ally the brand with the best creative talent to emerge from Scotland.
